Do Carolina reapers generally take a long time to produce? I planted these at the same time as my goat horn peppers and you can barely see any formation on them and the goat horns are about 9 inches long already. I did just move them to bigger pots today as you can see they were extremely root bound! Could that have been why they are so stunted?

Do Carolina reapers generally take a long time to produce? Reapers are C.chinense, and Goat Horn(pj) are a C.annuum. Generally speaking, c.Chinense do take longer to produce ripe fruit than a C.annuum.

"Usually", the hotter the C. chinense, the longer it takes. From seed sprout to fruit production, my ghosts take on average seven months.

Capsicum chinense average production time= 90-120 days.
The higher the heat does not equal to ripening duration i.e. there is no correlation between heat and ripening time.

In NC, they typically take from plant-out mid-April to late July or August to start showing fruit, late August for ripe. In general, in my experience, chinense's definitely take longer than annuums.
