Carribean Red

So this past season I grew a Carribean Red pepper. I purchased this plant at my local Home Depot (it was organic) so I used it as a tester in my home made greenhouse to see if the place was capable of sustaining C.Chinense varieties. It worked great. Yet what I'm getting at is, Is the Carribean Red a real variety or is it a hybrid? Cause I've seen pretty different postings where people refer to Scotch Bonnets as Carribean Reds and what not yet the two look pretty darn different from one another. Mind you that I did get quite a few pods with scorp tails and bonnet like pods here and there yet never truly bonnet like in my opinion.

ouch, i have a post with pics from aug or sept where i found plants from home depot with caribbean red labels but clearly the plants were superchile.

They looked exactly like that. So is this a hybrid? A separate strain?

At this point it is a stabile and separate strain.

Interesting. Considering that this was found at a home depot how long is it til these peppers become mainstream?
 
Hopefully never....it'd be a pitty for mega stores to carry such exotic plants.

The Caribbean reds have been around for a while, pretty sure it's considered old news by most chili heads now.

No hybrid just a stable strain.  Good flavor and a terrific producer.

Indeed all my fam and friends loved the sauce i made with them and mango's this year. Just delicious.
