If I can make a suggestion for peeling large amounts of garlic. If you have 2 bowls that are approximately the same diameter, put the unpeeled cloves in the bottom bowl, cover with the second bowl and shake hard. After a minute or so, remove the cloves that are clean and repeat as needed.
