Like the other guys said (Hi Rodney and syncline-o!), the NMSU Chiltepins will eventually sprout...You don't need to do all that doctoring on them, either—They will sprout just fine without all that. I've still got one of those plants from the original post of this thread back in 2010...It's dang nearly bulletproof, and one of my very favorite chiles:
This year I'm growing Texas Pequins that are supposed to have come from a perennial bush in Austin.
