chinense Chinese Greens - Dark and pale / light ? why ?

Quick question.........

Can a knowledgeable person please explain why some chinense have dark green pods before ripening and others light green pods before ripening πŸ€”

Example: Dorset naga has dark green pods and Dorset naga orange has light/pale green pods my mate who grows Dorset naga was surprised when I showed him the pale green pods on my Dorset naga orange.

My Reaper Equis and Bengle naga pidsare pale green while my Fatalii gourmet jigsaw are darker like my Dorset naga.........

@Annuchin. There’s also the sw alleleic series mutation affecting the amount of chlorophyll produced in immature fruits (the "sulfury-white" series, sw1, sw2, …. swn), which has commonly been considered the/a reason for immature peppers having colors ranging from a sulfery white to darker green. I wasn't familiar with the zinc-finger transcription factor prior to your post and pretty much just attributed these variations to sw. Do you have any info or ideas on overlap here and how prevalent one might be versus the other?
 
My empirical experience is that chillies that are white or yellow/orange when ripe are often light green when immature, while red ones are often dark green, especially those that ripen to a "deep red", which is consistent with the explanation about the "sw" allele series / less chloroplast production that I had also read about

My unripe Yellow/Orange Scotch Bonnets are dark green, while the red Aji Chombo has light green pods.

yeah, you're actually right about these two because I have them too and I just went out on the balcony to check (I have the aji chombo because you liked it 🀣). I was pretty sure there was some trend like this but it's probably a rule that's less valid than I thought, I don't know if it depends on the type of orange or red that develops or something else related to chlorophyll
