I got these Chinese PentColor (5Color) Peach Pepper seeds ( direct translation) from China last year while I visited, started in march, as far as I know, we dont have these in North America, so I'm uploading some pics to share with everyone.
From what I gathered about these Chinese PentColor Peach Peppers (Lets call it "Chinese 5PP" shall we?), have "Peach Shapes" hence the name, and they turn from creamy light green -> Purple --> Orange ---> Red, now, thats only 4 I counted, maybe I missed one color. I only have 1 plant so far that have fruit on it, and have 2 more just starting to get fruit. The size of the fruit is about 3cm X 3cm (Canadian here, so I dont know how to use inches, sorry). Its bigger than the Numex Twilight, and you will notice on the pictures, its not a uniform color Change, its this strange color morph, kinda like pattern on a snake. If I'm to name it, I would call it: "Chinese QuadColor Snake" or something along that line. It almost have no pepper taste to me, I took one raw, does have some heat, but taste like grass or leaf, yes, I tried grass before LOL, dont ask.
Since China is the founding place of Bonsai, and I love bonsai,so I went to China hopeing to get some rare bonsai pepper seeds, and the lady from this bonsai shop sold me these. However, I dont think this would make a good bonsai plant since the leaves are bigger than the Numex, However, the leaves are very elegant and nicely shaped.
Anyone know any good Bonsai peppers with small leaves and would be ok with relatively low light enviroment and small fruit?
Here are the picture!
Enjoy
1. First Color (Chinese 5PP)
2. Orange, in the back, and notice the pattern of color change
Red and purple
The plant
I'm trying to cross these with Numex Twilight to give it more color, this should look great if there are more colors on it, anyone got any experience with this?
Have a nice day!
