Anyone out there by chance have a few seeds you can spare.Gladly trade if you go to my page and see if I have anything you are interested in.All but about a dozen types are good to go on my part.If you can help thanks and I owe you. Rich

I don't believe a 'true' Chocolate Scotch Bonnet exists (correct pod shape, size, fragrance). I looked for years on end.

I agree Chris. I believe what is generally being called chocolate Scotch bonnets are the same or very close to chocolate habs(Congo black), and there are many other chocolate varieties that are also the same or very very close and they all seem to originate from the Caribbean.

Ok well thanks everyone for your input.I would really app any input before I buy what isn`t that. rich

i have tasted the choco Congo and the choco scotch they have distinctly different flavors

you can take my word for it there is a such thing as a chocolate scotch bonnet my friend had a 40 ft row of them this last season i also Googled it and it truly does exsist
thanks your friend joe

I'm not saying the name doesn't exist. I'm saying a pod shaped like a real Scotch Bonnet with the correct size and proper heat levels seems not to exist. Anyone can call any pod anything. A 'real' Scotch Bonnet has unique characteristics. The chocolate one I've grown was more hab-shaped, but I liked it a lot and it was noticeably hotter than a regular chocolate habanero. It just wasn't what I have hunted for.

+1 Chris

I grew "chocolate scotch bonnets" from several sources and to me they were almost identical to Brown/black congos(Brown hab) and did not have a Scotch bonnet flavor, heat, or shape at all. More of a congo or large habanero shape and maybe a little less heat than the congos

Here's my favorite "chocolate scotch bonnet" pod from a few years back...lol

oh ok chris
i know now what you mean there are two to three shapes the flatter Jamaican type with a indentation underneath, the other looks like a hab and the third is hab like with a pushed in underbelly, i have seen shape two and three occur on the same plant, again sorry for the misunderstanding, yes i do see what you mean now, the choco scotch does look like a Hab, but it does taste a bit different

i have true yellow Jamaican scotch bonnet seeds, there from pods that are flatter and man do they taste great!! very good for jerk seasoning

thanks your friend Joe

Never say never. Sara from Trinidad taught me that. What I didn't think could possibly exist did. It's just being in the right place at the right time. The search continues.....
