Chocolate cayenne???

These where supposed to be golden cayenne's, after sharing them at work they have been nicknamed "Daemon Turds" due to there intense heat and brown color. I'd rate the heat up there with a habenero with a good 20 - 30 min burn, biggest pods are about 10" long.

Leave them and I bet they ripen to red

+1 Potawie my thick cayenne goes through the same transition from green to brown and finally red

Potawie is right, leave them on the plant for 2 to 3 more day and they will be red. I have a lot of "chocolate" cayennes, then they turn red.

Whatever they wind up being, you should continue to call them "Daemon Turds." That's just too good not to.
