I have chocolate fatalii. but no pods for a while
Thanks. It just stinks that the Chocolate Fatalii is a cross. I didn't realize that.

Cool Chris. I guess I should have known you of all people would have them.

I got some things for you Josh...or at least I will come harvest...Chocolate Fatalii, Chocolate Habajolokia (from Talas), and Chocolate Scotch Bonnet...I think thats all the chocolates I am growing this year...my chocolate habs didn't make it...
Dammit...temping me with even more chocolates. I may have to take you up on that Chocolate Scotch Bonnet and Habajolokia. If they don't fit in the chocolate bed I am sure I can find a spot for them somewhere else.

I love the way chocolate pods look on a plant, a whole bed full of pods will be beautiful.
Yea those were my thoughts exactly. I am actually fairly excited about it already and I am not even halfway through this season yet.

Hi Josh
I have Choc Bhut and choc hab and just got seome seeds of Choc Fatalli. Once they all fruit we can trade if you like? I'd be interested in the Douglah a.t.m
I will probably take you up on that offer. I figure that way your Chocolate Fataliis will breed true. Either way I have you down for Douglah seeds.

I've got Congo Browns and Long Choc habs. Neither one has ripe fruit yet so I'm not sure how pure the seed is or if they're hybridized.
Very cool. I will have to think about it. I posted this looking for 2 varieties and now I am overwhelmed with all types of chocolate offers. Just wondering where I will be able to put them all.

I'm quite sure I've read somewhere, that the Chocolate Fatalii is a cross between Fatalii (shape) and Peruvian Chinense (color), crossed by a guy from Finland.
Josh: Hello again! Apart from Fatalii Ch and Bhut Jolokia Ch, I'm also growing Ch Cherry and Habanero Ch Long + a number of other brown varieties.
Drop me a reminder when the time comes!
Best wishes René
Ah that is too bad about it being a cross. Thanks for pointing that out though.
I will let you know about your offer in a few months. I figure I will probably ask the people who live closer. It will save on postage. Besides, you were already very generous with those Brazilian Bonanza seeds.

Yep Peru Chinese cross loses the fatalii taste unfortunately...
Working on my own version or versions
I guess you are not happy with the flavor. Is it worth growing, flavor-wise that is?

A lot of the chinense chocolates taste similar with a great hot smokey flavor, but there are some types that are quite different as well
I know you were talking about the taste of Chocolate Chineses but what are your thoughts on the Pasilla Bajio. I believe you once described it as tasting like raisins. That sounds interesting to me.
I am going to wait until the Fall to do trading. I know I should have waited until then to post this thread, but as I said to PRF I am excited about this chocolate bed. Thanks again for all the nice offers. I will be sure to revive this thread and bug you all again when the time comes.
