Seriously though:  anything with a heat gauge,  mine is plug and go and it burns the hell out of the pods
Yea that's like the one I'm replacing. Mine is plug and go, except it does have an off/on switch.

My new FD80 will be here tomorrow and I'm freaking excited. I am going to fill that joker slap full of nice fresh pods.

I bought a $5 timer from harbor freight and I am gonna try running it 15 mins on, 15 off etc. and see if it still burns them

Yea that might work illWill, I just had some extra $ from selling some pods and was trying to decide what to buy, then later that night I was thinking of drying some pods but thought "well hell they always turn out burnt" So the hunt for a dehydrator began

Speaking of Harbor Freight, they have a 5-tray dehydrator that lists for $30, currently on sale for $25.  They were on sale for $22 and I have a 25% off coupon I could use on top of the sale price.  I got three of them for $16.50 each.  I've been running one of them pretty much around the clock lately (125W) and so far, so good.  It's a plug and go model, and it does toast the yellows, but I'm going to splice a dimmer switch into the power cord for more control.

I was going to get a NESCO a little while ago, at a store I frequent, but decided that I don't have much room here and then the store sold it and started carrying a Waring Pro model.

I've used both types and have found that they both work ok, but you can build one out of plywood with pull out trays and lock tight doors and a small ceramic type heater for about $50.00 that will have about 12 trays depending how tall and deep you want to make it. for a few dolars more you can add all the little extras you might want.  All that of course would require a few wood working tools and a little skill.  You could work out a trade or deal with a cabinet maker or even some one in a wood working shop but it could cost you a lot more that way . I plan on building my own next spring, hopefully it will turn out even better that the ones you can buy.

Seriously... Seriously? Want me to post some desert pics from my military days?

I just wore out a Nesco FD75... Just locked up and quit. (I used it ALOT)I replaqce it with the FD1010 Garden master. I found one on Ebay for $95 plus $20 shipping, and it came with 8 trays vs. the OEM supplied 4. Impressed so far, but have only used it a couple times.

Harold
