Cicadas

Cicadas have been everywhere in my yard this year, including on my pepper plants. Any cause for concern with potential damage to pepper plants?

They have been so loud that going near certain trees hurts my ears.

Years ago in TN we were in the middle of a every 14 year invasion, this time it was very bad. You would literally be almost covered while operating a weed eater it was crazy. All us lawn dogs just walking around looking like circus freaks.

Don't worry about your plants. Rig up a fishing rod with a Brood X lure or fly and have a blast. Are you in SC Pennsylvania or Maryland?
Indiana.

Fishing with them is a good idea.

Cicadas are mostly gone now, but it is disturbing to think that they could be eating the roots of trees or other plants in my yard. I saw some neighbors protecting small trees with nets, but I didn’t have the time or energy to even consider doing that.
