Clear Hot Sauce Question

While reading in the hot sauce question my mind flashed on a memory from my childhood. When I was a kid and we would go out to eat somewhere (almost any place at all) there would be a little bottle that had a clear liquid in it and there were always little red peppers in it.

From my reading here I am guessing that it was hot vinegar or something of the like. Do any of yall know what I am talking about?

I seen a bottle at a store i pretty sure its just spicy vinegar gross might as well buy tabasco

Sounds like vinegar to me. Did you grow up eating Filipino food?
