Co-Packing for Small Batch Producers

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here.  I currently run a hot sauce company in Santiago, Chile. I am from the U.S and am hoping to return and expand the company to the U.S market.  I have found many co-packers but few interested in dealing with new customers on a small scale.  Does anyone have any recommendations? Cheers.

:welcome: to THP!

Most copackers are busy, you have to be persistant to get them to talk to you.  It would be difficult to get someone to take on your project on a small scale especially when working from Chile.  Most copackers want to do a 10 gallon test batch and then do a run of 40-60 gallons, most start up sauce makers aren't ready to batch up like that.  As you said you currently run a sauce company, it sounds like you are at least at the stage to work with larger batches.  But again, I think it'll be difficult to get a company to work with you unless you have someone in the US to handle a lot of the logistics or you are willing to pay for the copacker to take care of everything.

There are copackers all over the US, I'd suggest waiting until you get back to the US and find a copacker in your area, wherever you end up living.  Talking to them in person, or at least when you are ready to process will get much more responses.

Good Luck!
