Hey guys. Getting to the point in my hot sauce adventure where regular office supply stores and home printing just won't cut it anymore. We used 2.5x2.5'' white vinyl stickers with black ink, but are looking for something a little classier now. Got a couple quotes from commercial printers who would print a roll of 500 coated labels for around 250 bucks. That's 50 cents a label. Vinyl stickers seem way more economical.

Do you guys know of any printers where you can get a roll of circular labels on (preferably recycled) coated paper for a good price? Also looked into having the graphics directly printed on the bottle (think a bottle of Corona). 1000 bottles would end up costing 50 cents a bottle. We're lookin for something in the 25 cent and less range. Any ideas?

I've had several labels printed from Richmark Labels-

I did all the graphic design work and sent them final copy so all they had to do was import and go. One of the labels was on bopp stock (water proof, resists oil etc). It was a little smaller label, 1.5"x2.5" The rest of the labels were 2.5"x4", full color.

They averaged $125-$135 per 1000 plus a $65 per label set up charge. They came to ~.20 each.

They can print less than 1000, but it was the same price for 500 labels as it was for 1000 labels. And if you order more than 1000 labels the price goes down significantly. They print on roll stock and have (1000's!) of die sizes.

The person I worked with is Robert Horn. I'm very happy with the print job. Only thing I would caution is, if you work with Robert, stay on top of the emails and make sure he's looking at the most current emails. I had a couple emails get overlooked. They do electronic proofs, and that's how I found one of the lost emails, cuz the proof was of an older design and I'd changed the design but Robert missed the email.

All in all, I'm pleased with the labels. It's nice to have the professional look. Now I hate taking the bottles that still have the office supply store printed labels on them into stores. A couple products I don't sell much of, and it's hard to justify the expense of the nice labels. But soon...I hope....

Try BLP (Badger Land Products?) Jena Hameau is our contact. They do power buys, once a month or so, where everyone orders labels at once, even short runs. The savings is substantial. I THINK WE ONLY PAY .17 For our hab cream cheese labels and those are big labels.
