seeds 'Coffee filter' germination method

Hey guys. This year I've tried to germinate my seeds on a piece of paper in one of those sealable sauce cups. They're starting to germinate and I realised I actually don't know when to transfer them to pots.

Do I wait until I see cotylendons? Or straight away when I see the tip of the root?

As soon as the root is about 1/2 inch long I put the sprout in the dirt, flat side down (gently covered) to prevent helmet head. This way the seed will have to lift through the dirt and friction will help the shell to fall (90% of the time).
