thanks omri. very interesting. i have read that stressing the plant by not watering will increase the heat level. we had so much rain this summer in august and september my peppers should be as cold as ice! but in july we had little rain and extreme heat into the upper 90's and into 100's hitting 102 or 103 which is very unusual for here.
so not all peppers on a the same plant much less from plant to plant of the same variety will have the same heat levels. i noticed this on my "scotch bonnet" that is not but appears to be an orange hab. some peppers have almost no heat but some are hotter but none have been really hot. on the other hand, my fatalli plant has produced consistently hot peppers unfortunately that died in late august early september.
