issue "Completely" dark purple cotyledons

Hello, I know leaves can turn purple from phosphorus deficiencies and lighting. I wasn't sure of this specific issue due to them being completely purple and then the true leave growing green. I thought it a fluke until the second grew purple right of the bat as well. Are there specific peppers that grow purple at first to distinguish which pepper it is? These were sent from a grower as a no name pod. It was a 2" long/ .25" wide red chile. They've been about 4/5" away from lights at a 71/65 degree, 14 hours on.

Thanks

Doubt it's an issue with light/nutes. I've grown 4 varieties had completely purple cotyledons: Pimenta de Neyde, Naga Smooky Rainbow, 7JPN, and Sepia Reaper x PDN. The Naga Smooky Rainbows then grew green true leaves with purple venation. A few of the 7JPN and Sepia Reaper x PDN seedlings went on to have green true leaves, but many remained purple. Several of the sepia reaper x PDN seedlings looked just like the larger seedling in your pic.

I wouldn't be surprised if your mystery seeds had some PDN in them. But there are so many PDN crosses as well as other dark foliage plants without PDN heritage. There's not a great chance you'll be able to confidently ID these.

Yeah, I'm not sure. It was a thin 2 inch long pepper and it was red. Like the size of a Thai pepper.so I don't think it's any of those. It would be cool and I would welcome it to the family if it were though.

And here's a fully sized pod (at least going off of the pod I got the seeds from(first pictures)

Also.... Look, not only does it have purple leaves with some green but now it's showing some variegated leaves Maybe a mineral deficiency? Leaves (7 scattered throughout) seem healthy.

More pics. I missed taking a picture of the pepper when it was bright orange. Flowers seemed to have lost that vibrant purple that I first posted. Not sure what that's all about... Still can't figure out what plant it is.

You are probably losing the purple because of lighting, or lack thereof. I have a few purple foliage varieties and they fade out like that when they aren't getting a lot of sun, and get darker the more they get.
My best and bias guess, because I'm going based on what I've grown.. Maybe a hybrid along the lines of Maui Purple, but the flowers seem a little big, and the pods are a hanging versus reaching.

Edit:
I've also had a few varieties that didn't return to purple once they lost it.. No matter how much sun they got.

Thanks for your input. I think it's a hybrid as well because I can't find anything to match with it. Looks similar to a chile de arbol but smaller pods, I think. Regardless, I still like it. I'll just give it a new name!! Maybe someone will be compelled to contradict and then I'll get the right species 😁

That's not a bad plan. It is funny how things like that work on social media.
