Compmodder26's 2015

And so it begins!!

Well planning anyway...

I've put together my grow list for the year.  I'm scaling back the number of varieties, opting instead to grow more of each variety.

Here's what I will have going:
Mild-Medium:
Banana x3
Jalapeno x3
Huge Bell x3
Orange Bell x3
Orchid/Bishop's Hat x2

Supers (Yellow)
Yellow 7 Pot Brainstrain x4

Supers (Red) -
Monster Naga x5
7 Pot Caramel x5

Supers (Brown) -
7 Pot Brown x7
Brown Moruga Scorpion x7

I will be planting the supers on Feb. 1 and the rest will be started on Mar. 1.

This is the tentative layout for the community garden:

I'll be back on in a few weeks!

Looking good brian looks like your off to a great start!
Best of luck this grow season and may your plants roots grow deep and.produce many pods! :-)
Also I know how it is to have a chili loving cat she chow down if she could.
She even likes to play with medium heat pods and naw on them lol

Things are progressing nicely.  My supers are getting a little light in color, usually that means, once again, I am being heavy handed with the water.  No matter how many years I've been doing this, I still struggle, at least in the beginning, with watering them too much.  But it won't be long before they are ready to be potted up.  I'll be putting them in 1 quart root pouches, like last year.  Those are very good for people like me, who water more than needed.  They allow more oxygen into the root zone so excess water doesn't have as much of an effect.

The new starts are doing quite well, I have sprouts popped for every variety and most of them have at least 7.

Here's the latest progress pics.

Looking nice B here's to hoping for a banner year  Go big  blue  ;)

Hey!  Thanks Jamie!  Big Blue Nation is salivating for it right now.  Gonna be tough to stay undefeated through the SEC tourney though.  If you guys get past Bama, it will be a good game.  Your guys have played us close all year.

Just found this glog.  Awesome start, Brian.  I'm a big fan of the brown supers, too.

Better to water too much than not enough, in my experience.  Too wet and they're not happy, but they'll usually survive.  Too dry and they die.  Of course, just right is best.

Thanks John!  Yeah, I tend to err on that side too.

Looking good..Good Luck!

Thanks!

Looking good! The margin for error with those first small cells of soil is low too.  Once you've potted up you have more mass to deal with and a wider window for things.
Those true leaves are looking nice though!

I couldn't agree more Andy.  It always gets easier after they are out of the tiny cells.

Germination rates are very respectable, Brian!  Good work.

Tray II looks awesome for just 9 days in.  I'm always glad to get
the starts into the larger containers as well.  One reason I like the
Jiffy Pellets and transplanting as soon as cotys are green means
less water hassles.  I weigh the beverage cups to see when they
need water and give them 1/3 cup at a time and that seems to
keep the water just about right.

I've begun the potting up process.  Plants are doing well overall.  The Annuums and Baccatums are starting to show signs of yellowing now.  I know it cannot be due to overwatering as I'm waiting for their leaves to droop before watering anymore.  Thinking the Happy Frog isn't giving them what they need for some reason.  I've never had issues with Happy Frog before, but this bag doesn't seem to be working out.  I gave my first starts a weak dose of nutrients and they've seemed to start greening back up nicely.  We'll see how my potups do in a week or so.

Looking good! I am sure your babies will get green again...mine tinkered a little down that path so I fed them a tad. Wondering if some of my stuff from last season lost its touch...

That's what has me baffled though.  Happy Frog has always been great for me for feeding my plants.  This is a new bag, so not being reused.  Wondering if I got unlucky and got a bag without much life in it.

That's a lot of green though - looking good! And it looks like you've got a lot of potting up in your near future. They're taking off!
You're not kidding!  Gonna try to make a good effort to get most of the supers (that I'm keeping for myself anyways) potted up this weekend.

Yeah I think that is what happened to me, used ProMix with some added things and have a feeling one of the add ins was lifeless.
