Nah, all my MOA yellows looked weird too but the flavor/heat was bonnet. My MOA reds on the other hand were screamers even though they looked more like bonnets. Flavor was still similar just hot for bonnets. I had early Dreadies all over the place too until the season was well underway.
 
Were they peas, pigeon peas aka guandules? Best rice combo recipe in the world! We puertorican seat this on special occasions and just about every week. Made some yesterday my self.
