breeding cross pollinating

sorry for the beginner question but does cross pollinating mean crossing 2 types of chilli plants ?

example : say i wanted to cross a habanero with a bhut jolokia .. would i do this by simply using a small paint brush and taking the pollen from the bhut jolokia and lightly applying it on the flower of a habanero ?

Maybe not quite what you're looking for but there are charts out there that will help you identify your plant. (e.g. Flower Identification or Pod Identification)

(A quick google of the variety name usually does the trick too. )
