Cucumbers rotting and falling off vinec

I have cucumbers growing in a pot with a homemade trellis. It is full of flowers. The cucumber will get ti about one inch long, then yellow, rot, and fall off. Does anyone know what causes it and how to stop it?
 
Pics would help. 
 
Could be overwatering. Could be calcium deficiency. (Yes, cucumbers can get blossom-end rot….) Are the leaves yellowing at all? 
 
No yellowing leaves. The plant looks very healthy actually. I'll try adding lime and egg shells to the soil since you say it could be calcium. Thanks!
 
Are you sure they are not just the unfertilized female ovaries? Female flowers have what look like miniature cucumbers attached to their base. They will grow only if fertilized by the male flowers.
 
No, I'm not sure, but what you described is what it looks like. I now have some that have grown to 4-5 inches so far. Would hand pollination help the others? How do you tell the difference between male and female?
