My wife bought this as a plant and it was labelled hot Jalapeno. She questioned that when she bought it because she said it just didn't look exactly like some of the others. The flavor is not remarkably different than most chiles I've tried, and I would say it is moderately hot but not crazy. I've included some pictures of a young one, blooms and a couple freshly picked. Even though they look black in the pictures, the color is a very dark purple in the sunlight.
