Devil Duck was kind enough to give me two sample vials of his Nuclear Scurvy sauce at FFS '08, and I finally got around to trying it. He's made a winner, and I'm not just saying that because he's a good guy.
It starts with a nice, brief jalepeno kick and lime flavor, and rides out to a nice burn of habanero, and fades back to the fruity tones and lime. It has a well balanced flavor, and a nice thick consistency without being chunky. It also has a very pleasant aroma of jalepeno, habanero, and lime that I'm enjoying.
The heat level is pretty good, a little higher than I was expected based on his description of the sauce - but this is a good thing. The heat is nothing insane or unmanagable, but my tongue is still a little tingly a few minutes later.
I would classify it as an all-purpose sauce, I can see myself using it in variety of ways, but I'm thinking a chicken breast marinaded in this stuff would be utterly amazing.
There's plenty of room on the hot sauce pond for this Duck.
