Devv-2017-Having a good time in the dirt

Another season has come and gone. Time to start a new one!

Although I did already a few weeks ago :shh: . After last years dismal (late) start I jumped in a bit early to insure I could have viable plants come dirt day. I can always cut them back, if I need to. I have to compile a list yet, but I'm growing the full spectrum. Sweets, to supers, based upon what we will actually use. Most of my list is to make LB happy; I'm really glad to see her infuse peppers in more and more dishes. Can't beat that when the wife takes interest ;)

Not the best pic; but the shelf is being sketchy, and I don't need all the babies bouncing off the floor.

Good luck to all this season

Hi Scott..glad to see you have some fruits despite the high temps..hope you you had an enjoyable time
in NY..we have been lucky in terms of heat, its been cooler than normal here and I believe NY also.
but I am not complaining ...now its 70's and 50s at night...
I see some stormy weather heading to coastal Texas...will hope for the best..stay safe.

Hey, Scottie!  Your grow is hanging in there.  I hope the
downturn in temps sees a real boost to pod production.
If that LOT ripens up, you will have pounds of orange pods!

Hope you and all the chili heads in Texas can ride out the
storm that's a-comin'.  Good luck to all the folks along
the coast...

Hi Sandy,

Yes the weather in NY was delightful, a really nice break from the summer heat we have here in Texas.

The storm brought us 3/10ths of an inch of rain and some winds. My son lives 1.2 hours East-Northeast and they have been poured on all day! The ones who got hit hard are South and Southeast of us. I hope they did OK.

Thanks Paul,

Those along the coastal areas had a rough time. I wouldn't have wanted to be down there!

The sunshades come off as soon as the wind dies down here!

So it was windy today, 3/10" of rain, now east of us is another story. Actually I was working outside this morning until lunch and then cooking on the BBQ. So at our house all was well ;)

Hi Scott, glad you and the family are OK in the face of the hurricane. You're online so you must have kept your grid connection.
Cool!

Thanks Rick!

What blows my brain up is the storm has been in the same place (pretty much) and is now half the strength, and the winds seem a bit higher.

My son who's in Seguin got a ton of rain, but no damage or flooding. Daughter lives in San Antonio and they got very little rain. Prayers go out to those South and East, rough ride there for sure.

Hey buddy glad to see you and family are ok. Watching the news right now and it's really awful what happened down there.

Thanks FB,

Really crazy for those south and east of us. I feel blessed the storm spared us.

Glad Harvey hasn't had too much of an impact.  Now the real question, what happened to the Scat Pack?!?!

The "Beast 2.0". A very addictive toy :shh:

Thanks Rick!

Glad the storm didn't have a serious impact out your way ;)

Around here the HC's were always $15-20k above sticker, I wasn't looking to buy one, but the ad in the paper caught my eye. $4k below sticker, I read that out loud and said "wow". The wife said go buy it!

Being I'm a good husband I listened ;)

I got a good trade in on the Scatpack as well. I then told a coworker who's nephew owned a '14 RT about the SP, and that it only had 5,600 miles on it, never driven in the rain, waxed to death, etc. Well he now owns it, and I know it's in good hands.

Talk about an awesome wife, man! Holy crap! I told my wife that if I ever see a '72 Chevelle for sale I'm buying it, on the spot, no matter what the cost. She, in no uncertain terms, politely told me to go f**k myself, haha.

I've even tried putting in on the grocery list on the fridge!

-milk
-eggs
-'72 Chevelle, royal blue, w/ 2 white racing stripes over the top
-bread
-cheese
-deli meat

Still no luck ;)
I tried doing the same thing for an English Bulldog too  Dead serious!

I went at least 30 years without a toy, raising kids, paying off the house etc. She knew I wanted one, maybe it was all the youtube videos? Hint :shh:

I have this thing for a 66 Chevelle convertible, red, with the 396. The HC was cheaper ;)

Haha! I hear ya, bro. Maybe someday! My oldest is 12, middle one is 7, my youngest is 5 ;)

It all comes in time ;)

I'm rapidly approaching old fart territory. But still young enough to have fun

My oldest G-kid will be 16 in November! Now my son has to get her a car...LOL, I remember that!

We're still pulling here, mostly JA Habs and Large Orange Thai's. A few Jals and Jimmy Nardellos.

The fence I built around the garden really helped with all the Harvey winds, we didn't get much rain, but the wind was a bit crazy for 4 days. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks where the weather is more favorable to pod setting....meaning the 100° days are gone until next year....yay!

God bless all of those who were REALLY affected by Harvey.

Anyone else have their town run out of fuel? We're done here, and I'm sure it will be a few days. I did scoot in and fill all our cars with gas before the town went dry :shh:

Scott..glad to know you & the family are safe..the photos of the devastation is heartbreaking.
.We all have to pitch in  to help. Our  thoughts & prayers are with you & everyone there despite our distance.
