Directv's new guide

I'm sure the guy running dtv making millions worked hard on this new guide but it's junk. I should've know once att got involved with the company it would go to crap.

I can live with the tv guide but trying to find your recorded shows are unbearable. The font is so small it's hard to read and with that big pop-up description box make it irritating.

Why change for the worse? I didn't find any benefit to the changes. Has anyone else found it better?

I hope everyone complains about this new junk so it gets fixed.

It may be the box you have. I know with cable with older boxes the software stops updating at some point because of the technology of the box and you just trade it in, and get the newest model. Can you trade your box in for a new one? I don't know how DirecTV works.

It's not the box, I have a Genie and it updates all the time but this new update has everybody pissed. I looked around the net and people are complaining about the same things.

I bitched about it, but they don't seem to care. I have a 72" tv, and can't read the guide from across the room. I went out and got my cox cable self-install kit last Friday and will be kicking directtv to the curb. And I'm still frosted they wouldn't give me a price break when I asked for one a year ago even though I have been a customer for more than five years. So long, Direct tv.

I'm sure others will follow from the complaints I saw.

Here's a fix I found but I haven't tried it. There's people who say it works.

To change back to old guide hit the reset button on the directv box. Then as soon as the lights on front of box come on use your remote and enter the code 02468.This will make your box do a new download and will put the old guide back on.

Thanks, hope dtv doesn't figure this out & force us back to their downgraded interface! I'm a 15 year costumer & put up with alot of BS over the years but this new interface is too much!

IT WORKED....... Thank you soooooooooo very much.. Directv or should i say AT&T does not have a clue what thier customers want!!!!

If you want a price break just tell them you're calling to cancel your service. Ive done it many times. I did that with my alarm company and they sent me a $500 visa gift card just to stay. Lol

Unfortunately this does not work with Spectrum (formerly TWC). Time Warner had a retention policy and dept., and it worked if you called once a year and did that. Specialists in the Retention dept. would work with you to stay. Spectrum got rid of the dept., and if you call, they say, touch luck.

I just did it a couple months ago with spectrum though. That's who I have my internet through. I was going to switch to FIOS fiber optic and spectrum cut my bill by $20 and gave me a higher mbps to stay. My internet still kinda sucks but i'm saving $20 a month. haha

The prices are insane to begin with anyways. I was paying $70 a month JUST for internet. Paying $50 now. Still way too expensive for something that's considered  "necessity" by todays standards.

Good infol. I did google that they do have a retention dept. now so it must be new. I can understand when they first bought out TWC they wanted to stick to their pricing model for awhile without wavering.

Some areas don't even have options. It's one or none so they have you by the short and curlies. Only reason I stayed with spectrum was cuz the fiber optic people no showed twice for the install so I told them to shove their fiber optic up their ass. I didn't tell spectrum that though. I just played dumb when they were giving me all these perks if I decided to stay.
