I have often thought about combinations of plants to combat insect plagues. My current layout seems to work somewhat, as insects seem to now exclusively sit on my hardy Basil and Bell Pepper plant.
What i would love to try next season is a central Basil surrounded by a species of 'Wort', most likely butterwort or bogwart. The highly attractive herb, with the carnivorous beast below.Â

Anyone else using interesting plants or combinations to distract insects from their peppers?Â

The following pictures are plants within a 1 yard radius:
1. Basil and Bell infestation

I think the Carnivorous plants next to the herb may be of great help... i also have a couple marigolds to attract lady-beetles for aphid eating and occasionally use a white oil spray if needed, but im not worried about 2-3 insects on a whole plant
