Does anyone know a website/company selling decently priced growing lights and fixtures that ship to/within Canada? I tried to get this today http://www.lightingwise.com/item.asp?PID=128&FID=16&level=1 but was quoted 100 dollers shipping for two pieces which is insane.

fwiw you dont have to buy a "grow" light. you can go out an get a high bay 4-8 bulb t5 fixture with or without ballasts for like 80-150 bucks. high bays are those lights you see inside retail centers or warehouses etc. they typically have good reflectors because they are designed to hang very high. like 20' off the ground.
you might want to loot at your local electrical/ lighting supply or something like that.
if you get one without ballasts make sure to get ballasts that can handle the horti HO bulbs, even if you dont use HO bulbs... its like a marginal price increase to a 220watt ballast.

90% of the "grow lights" are just high bays painted green and modified slightly with toggle switches... flexible cords and cord grip...
