Do Chiles always take a while to "wake up" in the morning

I've noticed a pattern with my Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and was wondering if this is known:

I wake up 20 minutes after my grow light turns on. When I look at the plant, the top leaves are flat. When I get home after work, the top leaves are reaching for the light. I assume that it takes a little for it to "wake up," and for the phototropism to kick in.

I wonder if it's more related to the temperature than the light... Interesting observation... I'm going to watch for that for now on.

It's the light. In summer take a flashlight out after dark and look at them. Drooping like they need water but its the lack of light.

It could be stretching for the light. Or they are just really happy and crowning.
