water do i water or no?

^ My ground soil is currently rock hard dry clay and to till up 2' deep and 2' diameter in > 90F weather during a drought at this point in the season just isn't worth it just to dig it back up to overwinter again. Plus, all available locations in the ground where there's decent sun are occupied by other plants. I was already pushing it with how much I wedged crop plants in next to the year-round landscape plants.

Also I should mention that I never intended to grow this plant, the only positive thing about it to me is the size/yield. It was supposed to be a chocolate jamaican but looks more like a cross between a habanero and a tabasco (or some other small narrow spicy red type). No way to know for sure what the lineage is, the seed seller had no idea what had crossed to produce it. I'm more interested in a cross between it and a chocolate jamaican that I started from seed this spring but the pods on that plant are taking forever to ripen.

I seem to be hijacking the forum topic, sorry about that HotPeppas.
