Do roots seek out heat?

My hydro plant roots seem to be growing into the nutrient tank but mainly round the heater. The heater is set to 21 Celsius and just keeps the temp up at night.

What do you think?

They are seeking the oxigen that is being sucked out by the heat.
You should add an air pump if using a heater. Make sure your roots aren't getting to warm, they like it cooler then the rest of the plant!

Drop the temp of the heater 5 degrees C. You wont hurt anything getting them cooler!

I will take it down as low as it goes, 19 celsius I think. I don't have an air pump but the solution pump mixes air in as it pumps.

I would turn the heater off but we are getting the odd 14 Celsius night.
