Does anyone recognize this pepper?

Anyone recognize this Pepper? I purchased several plants from a guy and I/he/we were led to believe that these were going to be Carolina Reapers (obviously not). I contacted the grower and he was as irritated as I am at the seed supplier but had no idea what they are. The plants are quite healthy and are producing well so I decided to ride it out with these mystery plants. The flowers are a bright purple and the peppers start a medium green and quickly turn to a dark purple almost black. The only similar pepper I've been able to find is the Purple UFO but really have no way to confirm since there's so little published information on the Purple UFO. Any info would help, thanks for your time.

Cheers!

Well, it does appear to be an annuum. Purple UFO seems like a good guess to me. The pods look to be about the right shape and color for it. If it is a Purple UFO, the pods will eventually ripen to red. The ones I grew last year also had an interesting transitional phase as they went from purple to red. The pods turned a purplish red color with some subtle purple streaks remaining on them before finally going completely red. Maybe something to watch for as the pods ripen. Also, I seem to remember my pods staying in the purple phase for a good while before finally starting to turn red.
