Growing up in England in the 80's I was a complete curry nut - the hotter the better. For a 'morning after' remedy I'd put a toilet roll inside a plastic bag and keep it in the fridge.
Wind the clock forward 30 years and I bring you the 'Refrigerated Toilet Roll' awards, from Door County WI Hot Sauce Society. This is an annual 'best of the best' award that goes out to only one restaurant in the area, to acknowledge their contribution to preparing hot and spicy food. In 2009/10, Husby's in Sister Bay WI won the award for a 350,000 scoville chicken wing challenge. In 2010/11 the award was presented to the Peninsula Pub in Baileys Harbor for an outstanding 9 pepper chili.

Winners receive a very nice framed 'Certificate of Excellence' and a good bit of publicity in our local press.
