food-bev Dr. Nigel Carter's Strawberry Scorpion Jam...WOOF!!

This post isn't so much about "cooking", as it is with pairing.  Having just recently received this delectable condiment in the mail, I've been spreading it on my morning toast.  But now, now, inspired by 3-4 pints of home brewed IPA, I've decided to pair Dr. Nigel's Strawberry Scorpion Jam with a locally made vanilla ice cream.  In a word, the pairing is, insidious.  The combination of the frozen, creamy, vanilla ice cream, paired with the heat and sweetness of the strawberry jam is, well, insidious.  My mouth is still on fire as I post this.  Somehow, I think, the cold ice cream increases the heat profile of the jam, or rather, its perception on the palate.  This is simple genius!
