Dry leaves mean what lol?

I had many plants under a grow light early winter but ended up moving some out of that room and near a window. Some of the leaves on a few plants feel kind of dry and leathery. Some leaves falling off.
 
Not enough light? What exactly is the end result in this case? Will the plant completely die off or will it just cut back on foliage until it gets more light? Basically wondering if this is a natural process.

Humidity levels indoors during the winter can get very, very low, and can lead to issues like this.

     If they've been under the grow lights and out of the elements for long enough, they probably got accustomed to those conditions. Now that they're near a window maybe the light is less intense or the air is dryer or able to circulate more freely. Even small changes can have noticeable effects on plants when they're put in a completely new environment without time to acclimate.
     Maybe put them back under the lights for a day or two and see how they do. If they perk up, put them back by the window for another day or two and see what happens.
     This happens to some extent to a lot of my seedlings when I start moving them around in spring - from under grow lights to a sunny window to outside. When I go easy on them and make sure to give them a chance to acclimate to new surroundings, they overcome it and harden.
     Sometimes damaged roots (from fungus or fungus gnats) can cause plants to look wilted and sad. Something else to consider...

     Indeed. Variations in ambient humidity can have a larger than expected effect on unhardened plants.

No curtain, tbh light through the window isn't that much I think. It's NY btw. Still got snow.
 
Maybe humidity has an effect but it's hard for me to notice much of a difference between the room they were in and the one I moved them too.
 
Gnats could be a problem. Had a ton of them early on. Stopped seeing so many but I know they are still around. These plants are year old overwinters btw. None of them are dead but it's (as mentioned, kind of wilty and losing leaves+leathery feel). They were doing good in the grow room even with the gnat issue.

Pics will help but I would guess sunburn... windows can intensify light too (think burning something with a magnifying glass)

Do you have anything that can measure the humidity, or are you going by how it feels to you?

I'm throwing in with the others: change in environment. Generally, you harden plants off by incrementally exposing them to the sun light by increasing amounts, so as to minimise the shock.
