Dwarf Okra in containers...

My dwarf okra seeds came in the mail the other day and I'm about to plant, but before I do I just wanted to make sure my plans would work. Never grown dwarf okra before, and I am planting them in containers. Not sure of the specific name of the variety I got, but they are supposed to only get between 3.5 and 4 feet tall. Here is the ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350456011158&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT. (by the way, I can't speak to the quality of the seeds yet, but the seller shipped them super fast and you get a lot of em for your dollar).

I have 2 24 inch container pots. I am planning on direct sowing seeds so that I will end up with three dwarf okra plants per pot, with 8 or 9 inch spacing. Any thoughts on this?

I'd do two plants per container. Okra, even if dwarf will spread out. You could get away with three but you'll get smaller okra pods. I could be wrong though. Not an expert.

Well I consulted with someone who successfully grew clemson spineless in the ground with 8 inch spacing. I have sowed the seeds so that after thinning there will be 4 dwarf plants in each 24 inch container with 8-10 inches of spacing. I read elsewhere where someone had grown 3 dwarf okras in an 18 inch container. The containers hold a good bit of soil, huge difference between them and the 20 inch containers so what the heck, let's go for four. Of course, the seller advised against it as did some others, but I'm going for it and will update later in the season since there isn't a whole lot on growing okras in containers that I have found online.

I've grown okras on 5Gal containers and were successful. Even if you plant an non dwarf variety, you can "dwarf" them on containers. My tallest plant was around 5' only.
