hybrid Easy / Popular crossing

I have been goofing / growing out Reaper x Douglah for a bit now.  Made the choice because they seem like really popular peppers to cross.  Have seen Douglah x Everything and Reaper x Everything.  Sure someone has done Reaper x Douglah, but havent seen it yet.  Am wondering why these two are popular for so many crosses.

Is it just people going for heat or are these two particularly easy to cross successfully with others?

Thoughts?
 
I highly doubt they are any easier to cross than other cultivars. I imagine it's the super hot genetics people are looking for. A lot of people want hotter versions of their favorite tasting or shaped/colored peppers. Similar reason the PDN and BBG7 are so common in crosses, those cultivars have something unique that offers a specific trait that can be combined with others.

I thought about crossing those two a while back, but then saw others had already done it. I was going to call it the Reaplah.

Seems to me that people are crossing everything with Scotch Bonnets...and I can't blame them.
 
A couple months ago, Wicked Mike told me that he's been working on a cross that he hadn't seen yet: MOA x Bahamian Goat. Sounds frickin' delicious!

THAT'S WHO IT WAS!!! Lol. After WM told me that he hadn't seen one, of course I googled it. You are correct (if I'm remembering correctly) about Khang's Cross. It IS an MOA x Bahamian Goat.

Are they both MoA mother and Bahamian Goat father? It would be nice to see the inverse so comparisons can be made.
 
Oh I also saw something called the Bahamian Beast. It says it's a BG crossed with an unknown superhot. I don't grow but I have an idea... rather than these growdown challenges, how about you guys get a list of superhots and other rare peppers to cross with the BG? Everyone could pick a different one and we can see where it all goes.

I'm not really sure, but knowing Khang, he did both. Lol. I'd venture to guess that both are in his picture I posted.

Khang Starr has a MOA x Bahamian Goat cross going on. He's been calling it the Lemon Starrburst. Check out his video on it. He has some videos of the older generations as well.
