Hello everyone, so I have some of my chillies potted in a 60:40 coco coir/perlite mix that is wicking from a container below.
Next year I plan to have these wicking from a NFT channel that is controlled by a float valve.
I have tried to find information regading the EC strength and flushing for this method but only found posts regading coco coir using drips.
Seeing as this method only draws up the nutrient mix as it needs, what EC should I be using for the grow, flower, fruiting stages?
And do I still need to flush with this method? If so how often? and do I just give it plain RO to wick up itself, or do I remove the plastic and flush with RO from the top?
The plants pictured are currently using Green Planets ProCal @ full strength dose (1.25ml/L), and their GP3 Micro, Grow, and Bloom each @ 1.32ml/L, giving an EC of about 1.7 and a pH of 6.3.
When these nutrients run out I will be experimenting with 32% potassium silicate, and using Calcium Nitrate and Epsom Salts with (Campbells Diamond Blue for Veg) and (Campbells Special T for Fruit), perhaps mixing the Blue and Special T @ 50/50 for the flower stage to give a smoother transition?
I have attached images below.
Thanks
