Epsom Salt?

You ever dissolve any of that stuff in water and drink it? It would gag a maggot!

It's a bitter salt, and it would give you the Hershey squirts...

No thanks.

So that explains what happened to me yesterday! Just kidding.

Thanks for the advice. I used it 2 nights ago so I'll see what happens. Maybe the fact that we actually have our first full week of sunlight in June might kick them into gear.

Make sure to bag up the salts in something airtight after you open the box. The moisture in the air can make it turn into a solid rock otherwise. It does that with the humidity levels I have here, anyway. Or you can just go spend another $1 later. ;)

After thinking about it, I guess I don't add quite THAT much into a mix, I guess it's more like a couple Tbls.

But, as I'm starting off with just Pro-Mix/Perlite and not much else except some weak 5-3-4 TerraCycle granular worm poop fert, it's never been a problem.

I got a box of that very same Dollar store epsom today during lunch. Fed it to my plants that are kind of hurting for some nutes. If this gets'em going that'd be pretty cool. I'll try and get a comparo pic later.

Here is the first comparo pic

Here is that same pic taken after giving them a lil of the epsom goodness...

It says right on the box "A Natural Laxative" LMAO!!!!!!!!!!Works better than exlax and fully disolves in food or drinks for the unexpecting target!!!!! oops did I say that out loud....I have done that to a few people that really pissed me off...a lil epsom salt and they couldn't leave the house for 2 days!!!!! LOL

But on the other hand I do use Epsom Salt on my peppers and it works great! I put about 1/2 teaspoon at the base of the plant the day before it rains and I get real good results! I only use it when needed
