Hi all! I've disappeared for a while and here it is my new glog!
Smaller than ever.
Just 3 varieties and an overwinter. And no supers.
 

 
Just started.
11 Dedo de Moca
11 Datil
11 Brown Jalapeno
 
And the overwinter, a red rocoto (that has been somewhat devastated by hail):

 
Ripening pods!!!!
Really, that one did set some pods but noone ripened... I decided to leave them be and then that surpise!

So i had some harvest.
I finally tasted Datils! Tastes good! But for yellow habanero firepower level, MoA can't be beaten. 
 

 
 
Jalapenos seems to set even fatter pods...

Dedo de mocas are taking o ton of time to ripe... I guess in one week they'll surpass me!
 
 
 
 
 
 
So i went to the last lesson of the course, to Gran Paradiso!

Second day, on the summer solstice weekend. Start around 4am with darkness!

For about an hour there was still complete darknes. It was cool!

Here we were around 3800m of altitude and from here it was a bit hard, but we were near tha peak.

We stopped here at 4030m. We could easily go for the peak, the problem is that it was crowded and it would have been taken an hour just to ascend and descend that others 30m.... Someone earlier than us and someone later decided to go but, since weather could easily worse (and it didn't, luckily) we chose wisdom over coolness.

That alpine chough came near. I'd say he was begging for food!

The return was long (2100m descent).
 
Well, that has been indeed an experience. Gran Paradiso is an easy peak and overcrowded but interesting indeed and, in spite of the croed, untouched and with fantastic view.
Finally i have seen some of the western alps. For sure bigger, more majestic and different than mountain that i have near. Dolomites are better lookers though.
 
One curiosity: Gran Paradiso with its 4061m is the highest mountain fully located in Italy (Mont Blanc is shared with France, Monte Rosa and Matterhorn with Switzerland).
