I have had the trickiest time with over-watering, under-watering, heat vs. cold, and of course, bugs. The bugs were the easiest. Soap, neem, hexes, etc. Now I have a Ghost pepper plant that is thriving, probably 4 ft in height with 8 pods and a bunch of flower buds, and then there is my habenero of the same age that is maybe 8-inches tall, leaf curl, and I have transplanted into a pot to dry it out. Had it in a double-bucket setup, but it just never got dry enough. Then I built a frost box to protect seedlings/younglings during freezes. Worked great the first day we got frost at ~40F. (This is Florida, for reference). Next day I had to run out, got back in the afternoon, and had forgotten to prop up the lid. Cooked half my sprouts.Â

Still have a half dozen of each, and was starting some Scotch Bonnets from local Farmer's market peppers (leftover seeds) anyway, so 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Those Scotch Bonnets reminded me of Datils from st. Augustine. So we'll see how the rest of our winter (could be 2 more days or 3 months) goes.
