our experience with them is that the bhut is hotter at initial blast off but the douglah grows on you more- definitely two different "styles"- douglah also tastes like dookie whereas the bhuts taste good.

+1 to that from my exp. I am told that it is better when used as a pepper for smoking meats as it blends in with the other flavors well though I have not tried that myself yet.
