eXtreme Business
The National Fiery Foods And BBQ Show kicks off this coming Friday, March 1st in Albuquerque, NM. This it one of the 2 largest fiery foods conventions in the nation. They also sponsor the Scovie Awards contest.

Boxes of Evil have arrived in New Mexico, BFH Truffles are on the way, and in a couple days, SalsaKid and I will be on the way also.

We're arriving in Albuquerque on Wednesday, and from the FB chatter, the party will be starting Wednesday night at the Nativo Lodge hotel. I'm not sure if this is a good sign or not, but the vendors who are staying at the Nativo have been encouraged to call the hotel and let them know they are part of the chilehead group so the hotel can put them in rooms away from the other guests.

I'm just glad it'll take the 'Kid and I about 45 minutes to set up our booth. We can sleep 'til 11am Thursday, get to the Sandia Resort by noon, set up by 1:00pm and be back at the Nativo Lounge POOL by 2:00pm. SWEET!

We shipped 3 boxes of assorted Pure Evil products. A whole bunch of the regular 1.5mil SHU Pure Evil, and a few 3mil and 7.6mil SHU. I'm also bringing some bulk 15.2mil SHU pure capsaicin powder. :flamethrower:

We also have some BFH peach or cherry truffles from Madison Chocolatiers West. These little morsels are made with 7.6mil Pure Evil. We have 24 boxes, signed and numbered by Chef Ricky. There was 25 boxes, but hubby took one to work..... (that's another story for later... ) Oh, and BFH = Beyond Freakin' Hot .... and yes, they are....but also yummy, and hot, but it's chocolate....(I gotta stop eating the samples....) [sub](justkidding, Ricky and Renee!)[/sub]

So I figured out that, totalled up, using a math equation I made up myself, we'll have about 4,435,000,000 SHU's in our booth. Yes, that's 4billion, 435million SHUs.....

yea, I know you can't put (15) 1mil SHU bhuts in a sauce and get a 15mil sauce, but hey, it's just for fun, so I get to use that New Math to my advantage. It's a lot of SHUs any way you look at it...

Anyway, any other vendors or attendees going to the NM FFS feel free to post here. I'll be updating as time and sobriety permits.

Safe Travels, Everyone!

The show is at the Sandia Casino and Resort. Some of the vendors are staying at the Nativo Lodge, a separate hotel.

here's their link for the show~

OH! I forgot to mention...

In addition to all the product vendors, the EatMoreHeat gang of James Wreck, John Scrovak, and David will be doing live streaming during the whole show. (And I think...) Al "Buddah" Goldenberg and some other blogger-types will be there also. So, beings as this is a food show, and being the generous saint that I am...([sub]yea, right! ) [/sub]I figured the guys needed some cookies and brownies for their guests to enjoy...... :halo: ....Pure Evil treats on the way...

ticktockticktock...... tomorrow is the first travel day. Not too bad, ~3.5 hours inthe car and then hotel in the big schity of Spokane. Got a little something in mind as a treat for the 'Kid tomorrow. I'll maintain pretty good tonight as I'm driving tomorrow, but tomorrow night....time to RE-WINE!

Tuesday- we traveled to Spokane, caught the Harlem Globetrotters game and stayed up waaaaayyyy to late watching Subway Challenge vids.

Wednesday- Easy out of Spokane, but sitting in Phoenix on a 4 hour layover sucks. Hubby commented "you could of driven there" and after checking mileage and time...yea, we could of driven they by the time we actually get to ABQ. Oh Well, live and learn...

At least I'm getting caught up on alllllll the posts.

Most are getting in to ABQ today, except for a couple bloggers. Fun Fun FUN! Plans set for beers later.

Edit to add a couple pics-
Traveling light for just the 2 of us, check out the bag-
Enjoying some of NM's Awesome Regional cuisine, and my redneck wine chiller. WOOT!

Looking forward to the show, I’m definitely going to stop by and say hi and pick up some pure evil from you.

Sounds like good times are being had!
That wine chiller is redneck? Never knew it. Looks perfectly designed for the application.
If you add a little water and give it a few spins it gets cold quicker.................
at least that's what I heard ;)

Not To worry H-h-B, I had a bottle of red to tide me over until the white was chilled.

Tonight....breaking out the big time redneck wine cooler.

and some fun with Red Dye #5 for the 'Kid and a few streaks for me. THAT was fun, trying to do a dye job in a hotel room and trying to not get it all over everything~

Looking forward to seeing you, PK, thanks for the pm.

EatMoreHeat is doing live broadcasts for the whole show, Texas Creek is scheduled for Sunday Morning at 11:ooam local time (mountain). I'll post a link tomorrow when they get going. or look them up on FB for links to the stream.

More Pics soon!

Scovie, I'm totally crapping out on the food scene. Dinner was Taco Bell....need I post more?

Lack of pics, sorry, was on my feet for 10 hours. Lots of folks hitting up the 7.6mil Pure Evil including Danny Cash and his crew. The 7.6mil's sold out early. Good crowds and lots of good feedback. It's been a tough sell trying to explain to every-single-customer that it's not a hot sauce, not an extract, it's a food additive, no flavor, just heat... and then they want to buy some of the catsup that's out for sampling not realizing....... :sigh: ..... by the time they :get: what it is.....

And yea, I did it again. Sent a guy to the medics....

ACTUALLY- he had done 10 taster spoons of another sauce that was around 1mil, then came over for a tiny drop of 7.6mil. Insisted he was good to go, could handle it....NOT!!! And then to top it off, he rubbed his eye..... Security came by later and said he almost went to the hospital. "There's always at least one every year" was their attitude.

We just got back from a quick hot tub soak. Heading to the lobby to hang out for a while. Later~

Damn have some fun for all of us Ann!!!! I am so happy you are getting to travel and get more Texas Creek out there :) WAY TO FRIGGIN' GO GIRL!!!

Kid's hair looks great for a hotel room job! Are yalll brushing your teeth in the bathtub? Wine-sinkooler is AWESOME!!!!

Be good! Can't wait to see all your pics and hear about the fun.

Oh, Megs, "wine sinkooler" that's great! The sink was empty by the time teeth-brushing occured. but Oh My...at what price....

and what I posted in #12 about hanging out in the lobby turned into a 3:30am bedtime.... OUCH! Sam, Buddah, Mike Isenberg (Wicked Cactus Sauces) James Wreck and David from EatMoreHeat and I were the last ones standing.

BUT! I made it to the show in time to open the booth and get to the EatMoreHeat live feed by 11:00am. James Wreck was eating Pure Evil cookies first thing in the morning, and I saw the cookie Bumblefoot took a bite of....It will probably be going up for auction for charity. More on that later.

So for now, I heard there was going to be a pizza party in the hotel lobby and I "assumed" it was at our hotel. It's almost 2 1/2 hours since the show closed and noone is here. I guess the party's not at this hotel, so once again.....back to the  TacoCabana.

I didn't take many pics at all, but I'll be able to link to some other sites that will be posting.

OH!!!!! it seems the 7.6 mil Pure Evil was the hottest thing at the show. Today, we didn't even have it out on the table for samples and people were coming up asking to try it. There were some really good contacts with a "high profile" magazine and some other online writers, so hopefully we'll get some good press and see some results from the exposure. And just in case anyone is wondering, I made a 7.6 mil Pure Evil for a specific application, Madison Chocolatiers West used it in a couple of their chocolates. Brought a very few bottles of extra down here for the show. Sorry, sold out. :(

we're off to the taco shop...I'll have more time to post tomorrow, including a totally new product made by a chile grower that will "relieve the burn". We're going to do a video about this stuff.....it is AWESOME!!!! It really will absolutely take away the pain. The 'Kid did a test run with it at the show when we got it. He put a couple drops of Pure Evil on his forearm, I did a swipe with a towel...which smeared it all over... and the burn set in.....

I don't care... we don't have those here either!

well, if your idea of a good taco shell is a mondo-sized Doritos chip...

take-out pizza delivered to the hotel, it did happen and with delivery pies to follow!

drying some of Ed Currie's chiles right now. Just can't stand to let a good chile go to waste....
