food-bev Fire water?

I've seen a lot of topic here on infusing liquor with peppers and a few on distilling. So I was wondering if anyone has tried fermenting and distilling peppers them self. You know making real fire water. If so how did it come out. Just wondering.

When it comes to brewing and distilling. I don't think fermenting then distilling the peppers would be much more then a waste. Most of what makes the pepper good wouldn't make it through the still to the spirit. However doing a standard mash, and using a gin head filled with peppers etc... would work well. If you were making a brew that wasn't going to be distilled then putting peppers in that could also work well.
