pics First Harvest a little small?

So today I did my first ever harvest !

Here is a picturee !

& Well a lot of these peppers aren't as big as they normal get, but are ripe? so my question is, is that normal for a first harvest out of a plant?
 
I get some smaller pods on the first harvest, especially with habaneros or other small, roundish chinenses, but damn. I've never had jalapenos or fataliis that look like tepins. :eek:

That jalabanero looks awesome though. :cool: BTW what's with pulling off the leaves and flowers along with the cayenne pods? :lol: Must have been an accident, I knocked a foot long branch of an aji limo and several unripe habanero and brazilian starfish pods the other day though so I can't really say anything. :D
 
I wouldn't say it is normal for this time of year. I think lack of light and/or extreme high/low temps can cause this. Also inadequate pollination could be a possibility, which may have been a result of very high temps. I get small fruit like that on my overwintered plants during the winter and early spring.
 
My first peppers that grew before the heat are significantly larger than the ones that have grown in 100 degree weather.

& yeaah totally an accident. hahah. lol. & duude I accidentally stepped on a aji limon & snapped off a branch, but it all worked out, cuhz I made it a cutting xD.

Got 78 cents I could borrow?

Butr really, the right 3 are waaaay small, lol. Environmental conditions are probably the culprit. Just wait on the next batch and enjoy your miniatures in the meantime.
 
Nice sale....only a penny for the caribbean reds?....how many can I get for a dollar...LOL...those Thai Dragons look a little shy, could they possibly be a type of Bird's Eye pepper instead? Hey small harvest or not, what you have there can be cooked down with some cane vinegar,salt,etc. and made into your 1st private (stash) hot sauce of the season, store it in the fridge. I do that every year with my 1st pickens. Have a great grow with the rest of the year, man!
 
looking a little on the small side alright dude dude

the chilis need soil, fertilizer, water, and lighting

it is important to get a good balance of things.

from what you have shown of your plants i would look at is there enough water first.

second, it may be some of those are rootbound or you did not amend that p.v. soil quite right yet

maybe a picture of the plants that them pods came from may help for a better idea of why they look so small?

nobody got you to think it would be this easy/ difficult, did we?

please keep killing those snails :onfire:
 
I find that early pods are often small, shaped funny and taste different, I tend to yank those off before they grow or ripen. The pods i find are the worst are the ones right inbetween that first branch split of a young plant.

Your results may vary by overall climate + temps, soil and pepper type...

But whatever you do, don't judge a plant by the first pods it produces.

& yeaah its been really overcast here, so idk i hope it changes.
& i can get some pictures up maybe tommorow or something.
& ferr suree im owning those snails !
how are your plants doing? the ones i gave you seeds for?
