All my peppers have been in the ground for 62 days, and finally one of the F2 open pollinated superchiles has tuned red. I am dying to pick it, but it is not all red yet:
No, you have to wait a few days to pick it after it turned deep red. Superchilli tasted best a few days after turned deep red. You might have to check everyday to make sure the pods are not too ripped.
I can't wait to taste the first one. It was very hard for me to find an early sprouting pepper that also thrives in my not ideal garden. The nursery bought F1 plants had good heat. I hope the children have good heat as well.
