not sure what stage this is, since this is a chocolate scorpion I'm guessing the white part could turn into the stinger?

I've found that it's about a 50:50 chance of a viable pod forming when it starts like that.  Now if the flower falls off and the pod is already sticking out of the calyx then it's almost a sure bet that it will stick.
