I ordered a variety pack of super hots it comes with 5 different seeds so I'll post pictures when I get them in a couple of days! Any suggestions on things I could do with setup? Only using it until I can plant outside

whens your plant out ?   might have to beef up the lumens        :onfire:
may 24 weekend is the last frost probably, I am only using one t5 sun blaster with 2200 lumen if I got another one would that be a good enough light source ?

how many plants ? what square footage do you have ? my plant out is Mothers day  , plants are out in the green house by then but some are 2'  tall . i got about 55,000 lumens on them . 70 to 80 plants

Im just starting out so probably 3 or 4 plants. I believe the square footage is 3.70. im using one light that is 2200 lumens?

Typically you want 5-6k lumens per 2x2 area for growth. More for flowering, and a lot more for pods. Honestly if you go to your local hardware store you can pick up a 32w T8 Shoplight for $20 including bulbs (6500k daylight are my preferred) which puts out about 2800 lumens per bulb (so 5600 lumens over a 4X1 span) I double mine up for twice the lumens. But i cant see for 3-4 plants you need more than two lights. Mine grow great and ive got 6 shoplights for 50 plants. Also if you dont mind me asking where did you get the seeds?

ok thanks, and i got them at peppernorth

Alright, was just wondering. I've heard PN is pretty good there are just a lot of scam artists on amazon and ebay and a lot of other places that you should stay clear of when buying seeds.

....rkempston, if you are on FB there are some pepper growing groups that have active seed trading members.

Honestly, that fixture might get you started, but you are going to need more, a lot more, light before plant-out.

Something like this, with 6500K lamps, I use Spectralux brand myself.

the growing area is only 2 sqft though, and I am just using it to grow until last frost, so hopefully it works out, may pickup another light.

I see, so you are only going to have maybe a dozen plants that you will transplant outside?

Understood.

I was thinking that with your 72 cell starter tray, you were going for a lot more plants.

Well, good luck with your grow.

Start a grow log in the Glogs section and post lots of pics as things progress.
