indoor first time trying to grow peppers indoors

Hello ive grown some pepper plants outdoors this summer in 5 gallon buckets . im wanting to bring at least one plant indoors for the winter and i would like for it to keep flowering the way it is outdoors but im confused about lights - Watts , lumens etc . how many watts / lumens for a mature flowering carolina reaper is sufficient ? any information will help so much thank you .

I am going to jump in right here because I know your future.
 
You are asking about sufficient lighting for a mature Carolina reaper. Just enough light for the one plant? You are on the slippery slope right now.
 
How much indoor room do you have right now to commit to growing hot peppers? how much room do you not have that if priorities dictated could be converted to growing hot peppers?
 
Now, start from there.

Ok , thank you greatly .
 
1st , i wanted to stay within a 4 x 4 open space with no tent if i could  . if i need a tent i can get one no biggie . if needed i can go as big as a 6 x 6 . i have a whole empty room . Its beside of a big Window that gets direct sun 5 - 6 hours a day .

I just wanted to be sure because you start with 1 and end up with 350 one day.
 
Now, are you growing reapers because you really like them or because of the hype?
 
if hype, what do you find you like to eat?

i do not eat them straight although i do make hot sauces for myself, family and friends sometimes though . i also work in a factory with many Spanish people who pay money for my peppers ive grown this summer and the extra few dollars a week helps :) . It took me soooo long to grow the reaper plant(s) i hate to just let them die in the winter . if i can keep one of them going until next spring would be great .  i do have a few Ghost Pepper plants going outside too this summer producing pods but i only plan to grow one reaper plant indoors until i can grasp what it will take . i live on 2 acres of land and One day in the not to distant future i will have a greenhouse out back i hope . but for now one mature plant indoors will be Ok :) . im fascinated with growing peppers .
 
And Noooooo i will not end up with 350! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
 
A green house in NC will do you alright.You may be able to over winter them outside with one. I remember winters in Rock Hill and wish I still had those 60° January's.
 
When I started indoor growing I really didn't have an idea what I needed for a 110 sq ft room so I went with the biggest HPS I could get and figured I could move the peppers closer or farther away as needed. But I would have sufficient light for either. Looking back and knowing what I do now I would have gotten 2-650w hps lights vs the 1-1000w.

i used to grow marijuana indoors when i lived in Colorado ( and worked part time in a dispensary greenhouse) but thats been a few years ago . haven't grown anything indoors since i moved back to north carolina in 2015 .it seems like a lot has changed with Bulbs and the prices of things since i last was into it . Thats why i was asking how many Watts , lumens , spectrum etc for a plant that has been outdoors all summer was recommended for a single pepper plants once brought indoors .   
 
Ok , im off to find some decent grow equipment .
