Another idea to keep the PVC line down is to have a fitting just below where the lid sits. I mean even if you added a simple glued in slip coupling that would increase the outer diameter of the PVC just below the lid that would keep it from moving up. PVC slip couplings that you glue PVC sections together with are really cheap. I'm thinking the last ones I bought were 10 or 12 cents apiece. Just keep the lid hole big enough to easily slip over the upper PVC and smaller than the coupler outer i.d. Nice set-up and idea!
