Freakish marigold!!! 24" tall

I this year I am trying Marigolds as companions to help fight pests. I have something like 24 of them spread all around in my greenhouse.

However, there is this one that is twice as tall as all the others and its the same age! I put it in with my Fatalii Mother and it is almost twice as tall as her now

This thing is like 5 weeks old from seed, still no flowers, but it grows like a weed.

Some plants have some genetic predispositions to be "representative of their specie". Once in a while I've a plant who is way "better" than her relatives. It's always a good idea too save the seeds.

Weird. Looks like it isn't making any side branches. It's a mutant!

it has a few at the bottom but nothing special. All the major growth seems to be in the main stem.

My kid got marigolds to grow in school a couple of years ago and they got really tall like that.
